This is an unbiased review, not a sales call. I'm not a solar company — I'm someone who has spent five years minimising the energy use of one house, mine, down to the circuit. I don't sell panels, heat pumps, batteries, or installs, so I have no reason to find a problem that isn't there, and none to miss one that is.

Tony Willcox

Who's doing the review

I'm Tony Willcox. On my own house: 31 panels, 5 heat pumps, and 2 EVs — most of it installed by me, most of the cost clawed back with rebates and incentives. There's a heat pump on the hot tub. I've tracked energy use on every circuit and every appliance here for five years.

What I'm actually in this for: helping people use less energy, pay less for what they do use, and find the cheapest route there. Mostly that means building a road map — what first, what next, and how to get to net zero energy, and ideally a net zero bill, for the rest of your life.

How it works

  1. 1The WattHacker monitor — a small plug-in box~5 min
    Purchase, plug and play

Your monitor arrives. Plug it in, connect Wi-Fi. That's your part done.

  2. 2~2 weeks
    We gather and analyse

Every panel, the whole time. Watch it yourself in the portal whenever you like.

  3. 345 min
    We talk

1:1 call reviewing your data, and planning a road map to lower your bills.

You end up with two things: a road map to a smaller bill — and a monitor that keeps working long after the call.

Every panel, logged without limit, and an alert the moment something stops.

Will it work with my system?

If you have a SunPower PVS5 or PVS6, yes.

Plug-and-play. Your mother-in-law could install it.

  • ✓ About 5 minutes to connect
  • ✓ A USB and an ethernet cable, both included
  • ✗ No electrician, no rewiring, no hardware swap

Panel data starts streaming about 15 minutes later.

We keep working after the call

Your panels are warranted for 25 years. If you've had them five, that's two decades of production still to come — and every claim you might make on it needs evidence you can only collect as it happens.

Shade and failed panels don't announce themselves. We do.

  • Alerts on issues
    The moment something stops
  • Data stored forever
    Every panel, no time limit
  • Actionable fixes
What to do, not just what broke

Indefinite logs

Your first month is free — decide after the call. Keep it and it's $6/mo billed annually. Drop to the free plan any time; download everything first and you lose nothing.
